buffalo bill & lush designs

Now isn't this the most fabulous light shade ever! Another corker from the very talented ladies of Lush Designs celebrating when Buffalo Bill's 'Wild West Show' came to Britain. Complete with the man himself on horseback, Queen Victoria, Annie Oakley and the chap at the bottom whose name I've temporarily forgotten (must look it up). Aah.. that will be Sitting Bull then.
We have these at the moment in a large pendant shade (£60) and a smaller lamp shade (£34). The smaller shade is without the figures but has the horse galloping through the cacti filled landscape.

We've also got some wild pig lampshades & tea towels and some great screenprinted clocks (which I'll post when I've got some pictures).

hannah turner

More fabulous ceramic birds from Hannah Turner. We have gracing our shelves.... the Crested Chatter-Bill, the Crested Fan Tail, the Crested Hedge Warbler, the Oddie and the Crested Oddie! Some lovely new colours too. What more could you want!

suzanne devine

Some really lovely leather purses, glasses cases and bags from Manchester designer Suzanne Devine. I met Suzanne a number of years ago at the BCTF where she had a real stand out display. At that time boo vake was only selling work by Scottish or Scottish based makers & designers so it was a bit of frustation for me. Anyway having dug out her card again recently I decided to get back in touch and I'm very glad I did!

jammy things

Lots of new things have been arriving at boo vake recently. These are some stitched and embellished clutch bags from Perthshire designer Jammy Things (aka Denise Petrie).

syrah jay

We've just received a box full of colourful felted delights from Dundee textile designer Syrah Jay. Syrah combines various felting techniques in her brooches, bangles, necklaces & bags, and each piece is completely unique. Just the tonic on yet another blustery showery day.

pkavs party in the park

It's less than two weeks now until the big PKAVS extravaganza on the South Inch. It will be a day of music, dance, food and drink with an arts & craft show, children's craft workshops, trade stalls, pipes & drums, a polo game, animal & reptile corner, bouncy castle type things and more thrown in! The headliners for the day are the fab Red Hot Chilli Pipers - worth the ticket on their own. My partner Ken will be running a musician filled beer tent with help from other Inveralmond Brewery guys and will be doing a beer tasting at some point too.
For those outside Perth PKAVS is the Perth & Kinross Association of Voluntary Service and do fine work in supporting the elderly, the disabled, individuals with mental ill health, and the people who care for them - as well as a whole load more.
Check out the details at the PKAVS website. And get tickets in advance from Horsecross on 01738 621031.
